Kazantip abgesagt – Behörden stoppten Festival

Die Republik Kazantip, seit Anfang der 90er Jahre fester Bestandteil der globalen Partyszene, zog im letzten Jahr aufgrund der politischen und militärischen Unruhen von ihrer angestammten Ort auf der Halbinsel Krim ins benachbarte Georgien nach Anaklia. In diesem Jahr wollte der Tross wieder ein neues Ziel anpeilen, geplant war es ab dem 18. Februar für zehn Tage auf der kambodschanischen Insel Koh Puos zu feiern. Doch die Rechnung hatten die Macher wohl ohne den Wirt gemacht, bzw. ohne die Behörden vor Ort. Die haben in mit Hilfe der Polizei nämlich die Feierkarawane daran gehindert über die Brücke vom Festland auf die Insel zu kommen. Vize-Provinzgouverneur Chhin Seng Nguon sagte laut „Cambodia Daily“: „Die regionalen Behörden haben das Kazantip-Festival auf Koh Puos komplett abgesagt … unser Hauptfokus liegt auf Öko- und Kulturtourismus und wir brauchen diesen unanständigen Tourismus nicht.“

Von Seiten der Veranstalter gibt es folgendes Statement via Facebook:

It seems to me here and now on the edge of the Earth have gathered not strangers to each other and they know exactly why they have been traveling thousands of miles. I hope not only for music, but above all for communication and energy. You will get me very upset if you are bored with each other on the other side of the bridge, etc. as long as we are fighting for the life of the project, for which i have spent my life and strength, the talent of hundreds of others. Let all us be not sad a little more. Lets it be as we want, because we don’t want anything bad.
