UPDATE – Plagiatsvorwurf: Tresor zieht „Golden Rule“ EP zurück

Nach anhaltenden Plagiatsvorwürfen zog das Berliner Label Tresor die EP „Golden Rule“ von Confucio zurück. Laut Resident Advisor solle der italienische Techno-Produzent zwei seiner Stücke mit Werken von Stanislav Tolkachev und Alexey Volkov produziert haben. Die Reproduktion war laut Ansicht vieler weit über das übliche Samplen, etc. hinausgegangen und als Kopie klassifiziert worden.

Unter anderem die Produzentin Dasha Rush wies öffentlich darauf hin, dass Confucios „Where The Logic Ends“ ein offensichtliches Plagiat von Stanislav Tolkachevs „Blue Mood“ sei, welches bereits 2006 releast wurde. Laut Resident Advisor hat das Label Tresor alles daran getan, sich mit den Labels der hier angesprochenen Releases – Aftertaste Recordings und Planete Rouge – und den ursprünglichen Urhebern zu einigen. Letztendlich entschied man sich in Berlin Tresor.276 zurückzuziehen, ausgelieferte Platten zurückzurufen und die Tracks aus Download-Portalen zu entfernen.

Tresor selbst lies gegenüber Resident Advisor folgendes verlauten:
„Tresor Records recently announced the release of three titles sent to us by Italian producer Emmanuel Beddewela, as the first tracks of his new project entitled Confucio. Unfortunately, we were recently made aware that two of the three titles in question had been produced using works from other producers.“

Weiter heißt es:
„Sampling, remixing, reworking and re-editing are techniques that find themselves at the core of electronic music. With the perspective Tresor has acquired over the last 25 years, controversies of this nature have always existed around the technique and have both positively and negatively affected the industry. Unfortunately, these examples go beyond this and we apologise to our fans, supporters and the artists involved once more.“

Eine Stellungnahme von Confucio selber gab es weder öffentlich noch gegenüber dem Label.

Anders als im Ursprungstext behauptet, hat Confucio bereits ein Statement auf seiner privaten Facebookpage veröffentlicht. Dieses könnt ihr hier nachlesen:

„I will make a proper speach after this one, But first RA never asked me nothing. Second Tresor fixed the issue with the artists licensing what has to be licensed, third stanislav was aware of it, and he even liked the work i did on his track. I want to say a pubblic sorry for the big shitstorm i caused, But as You can see people think about rippoffs when my idea wasn’t stealing But celebrating. I didn’t even know about the sound that was coming from a2 since is a razor vst that everyone can do. Now the pubblic shitstorm power caused this gossip, and tresor has to protect the label somehow, and you can understand it. But this wasn’t my intensions. And if you are smart enough you know i don’t need to copy. Ah don’t forget, people love to speak knowing just one side of the medal. The sad part is the internet, where like a little dirty bar people like to cover other people with shit.“
