Sisyphos-Resident Jonty SkruFFF verstorben

Wie Dienstagabend über seine offizielle Facebook-Seite veröffentlicht, ist der britische DJ und Produzent Jonty SkruFFF am frühen Morgen des 6. März in der Berliner Charité verstorben. In dem Post, der von seiner Frau Fidelity veröffentlicht wurde, gibt sie bekannt, dass der Sisyphos-Resident bereits seit einiger Zeit an Krebs litt und am besagten Freitag friedlich und ohne Schmerzen eingeschlafen sei. Die Krankheit hatte er aber bis wenige Tage vor seinem Tod verschwiegen, damit „ihn niemand anders behandelt und um das Leben, das er so sehr liebte, weiterführen zu können“.

SkruFFF war seit 2008 Wahl-Berliner, Resident-DJ im Kult-Club Sisyphos und spielte darüber hinaus in mehr als 30 Ländern. Vor seinem Umzug nach Berlin war er Resident im Fabric, London. Als Musikproduzent veröffentlichte er u.a. auf Sisyphon, What Came First, Shitkatapult (sein Remix von Motor’s ‚Death Rave‘ wurde mit einem französischen Quartz Award ausgezeichnet, das als eine Art französischer Grammy gilt) sowie Remixe u.a. auf Black Butter Records und Punch Music. Er war Radiomoderator bei Dance Paradise, Pioneer DJ Radio, Radio FG’s Underground FG, Ministry of Sound Radio, BLN.FM und Markenvertreter von Pioneer DJ. Auch als Musik-Journalist war SkruFFF tätig. In der Szene galt er als einer der wichtigsten Persönlichkeiten der Hauptstadt. Erst im November 2019 kuratierte und kompilierte er die Sisyphos‘ Hammahalle-Compilation, wo er das klassische Doppel-Vinyl-Format mit einem echten Stück des Clubs bzw. alten Fabrik-Geländes, auf dem der Club steht, ersetzte, und dieses an jeweils einem mit Musik bespielten USB-Stick anhängte. Zahlreiche bekannte Persönlichkeiten äußerten sich zum traurigen Vorfall:

He always had such a calmness about him that made you feel relaxed in his presence and was so generous with his time and knowledge. I always felt like he was really interested in me as a human being and he made me feel special as an artist.
